SIMATIC HMI Basic Line and New Siemens LOGO !
Series Launched in Nanjing

On Oct. 31st, 2008, Siemens AS&SE BU held a launching ceremony in Nanjing for the new SIMATIC HMI Basic Line and Siemens LOGO 0BA6 series. Mr. Manfred Veltes, General Manager of SLC IA&DT AS&SE BU and Mr. Wang Kun, Vice General Manager of SNC were present at the ceremony. The new products launched have been tailored to the customers' demands in the micro automation industry and take distributors' marketing concerns into account.
As Mr. Veltes and Mr. Wang Kun gently paint the pattern on the 3D display, the brand-new HMI and Siemens LOGO ! products made their debut. Product Managers of these two products, Mr. Wang Yuemin and Mr. Li Bingbing, introduced new features of these products respectively.
The newly introduced SIMATIC HMI Basic Line panels are redesigned in accordance with the needs of OEM customers based on existing SIMATIC HMI products. Featuring concise hardware and software functionality, reduced costs, ports and functions that are exclusive to the OEM industry, the new series offers increased cost-effectiveness. The basic line panels are equipped with an alarm system, recipe management as well as trend curve functions and Ethernet interface, which make the excellent even more perfect.
The new generation of Siemens LOGO ! products also made a quantum jump. Apart from optimization and improvement of previous features, the new series also has enhanced simulator functionality. The number of digital inputs which can be used for analog functions has been doubled to four, and four inputs can be used as fast counters up to a frequency of 5 kHz. Additional applications are made possible by new function blocks for arithmetic functions and pulse width modulation. It also provides connectivity to a text display. With all these advancements, the new Siemens LOGO ! series formerly used as logic controllers has now been promoted to micro PLCs in terms of its performance. It completes a micro automation product line together with S7-200, adding splendor to the SIMATIC family.
